How You Can Help

Make A Donation

The Daughters of Charity opened the St. Vincent Orphan Asylum in 1851 with many prayers, and very little money. They arrived in Detroit with just $8.50 in their pockets and a sincere desire to improve the lives of suffering children, the sick, and the destitute.

From the very beginning, they relied on the community to provide the resources to help them continue their work. Perhaps it was a piece of property, or donated milk, or funds for clothing and other necessities. Or perhaps it was time spent rocking babies in the nursery, or driving young pregnant women to doctor’s appointments.

Today, as before, the mission of the Center cannot be accomplished without the generosity of our donors. Individuals, groups, and corporations provide funds, gifts, time, knowledge and skills. Every area of the Center is affected by the generosity of our community’s members. Corporations assure the success of our fundraising events. Volunteers help our adults and children with academic challenges. Members of the trades donate their time and the remarkable generosity of those who provide financial support allows us to help children and adults improve and transform their lives.

St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center does not rent, sell or share donor information with third parties.
